Hi would you please tell us about some of the supplements you used while you were training to become a Victoria’s Secret model? I’m really interested in the fat burning supplement

    • Reply Poppy June 26, 2015 at 6:55 am

      Hi Kirsten,
I did not take any fat burning pills. I don’t believe they are good for your body and you should get the results you want with exercise and the right nutrition. I’ll be sharing the supplements I did take in my e-book which will be published shortly. Thanks for the questions!

Yay! I’m so excited for this! You looked fantastic both before and after this experience but the challenge sounds like it was really fun! I live state side and am looking for a personal trainer but have no idea how to spot a good one. Especially because I am already thin, but I am a “skinny fat”, I suppose. I’m not at all opposed to gaining muscle but I do want to focus on leaving down rather than getting bigger. Most trainers I’ve talked to want me to bulk up, which freaks me out. Do you have any tips? Or know any super notable trainers in Austin, TX?

      Hi Jenn,
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. Really appreciate them! :)
I’m sorry I can’t recommend a trainer in Austin, however any decent trainer wouldn’t make you ‘bulk up’ if that’s not what you want to do.
Although I gained lean muscle, my measurements went down and I looked firmer as a result. Your trainer could just be referring to lean muscle when he/she says ‘bulk’ although this is a bad choice of word! Make sure you tell them your exact goals and they should tailor a programme to match your needs.
Don’t be afraid of weights. Muscle will help burn fat, reduce aging process and protect against disease (see my post re ‘Hard but not Hell’). You’ll also look lean rather than “skinny fat”. You don’t need to lift heavy – just enough to give you the tone. More info will come in the e-book out soon.
      Hope that helps?

Will you also be posting the meal plans you had during the course of the VS workout??

I also read the article on The Mail, where “you” emphasised on the importance of having a sports massage once a week… Would your guide also cover ways to relax the body (like the massages did for you) as well?

    Thank you!!

So excited for your ebook!!! The diet plan would always be a great bonus, however if don’t end up including it I was wondering if you would be giving your diet tips from the plan. I remember reading about you doing a low carb and low sugar diet. I started looking at my amount of “hidden” carbs such as carbs in coconut water and noticed I was taking in more carbs than I ever thought. If the ebook doesn’t show a full diet plan would you share fun tips on how to get the hidden carbs out of your diet? Or how you cut the carbs and sugar from your diet? And tips like this….I know raw coconut water is great for hydration and your body, but has carbs? Is this something I cut for a portion of time or still include?

You are awesome! – keep inspiring!!!

      Hi K,
Thank you so much for your lovely comment.
First of all – you don’t want to exclude all carbs from your diet. The best diet’s are the ones that include a variety of foods – and this includes carbs. As Dr Passler says, ‘No carb diets are not meant for long-term use. The potential long term negative effects are nutrient deficiencies and an imbalance of normal flora bacteria, the bacteria plays a large role in you immune system, ability to process nutrients, mental and emotional wellbeing and the ability to maintain weight.’
Remember – health is a virtue and should be everyone’s number one priority. If you want to lose weight and do a short-term low carb diet then providing you’re in good health, that’s fine. Just make sure you get back to eating a varied diet after though.
If you’d like to speak more, email me xx

I know that you did the workouts for four months, but how long did you do the diet? A Week? A Month? It is very important for me to know..

Hey Poppy! I read the following in a different blog post of yours:
“Although I’m exhausted I’m fitter and firmer with increased muscle mass and a lower fat percentage. I look far skinnier in the before photos which weren’t printed in The Mail. ”
I am curious about this. You said you lost body fat and your measurements were smaller, no? Even when taking into the muscle that you gained…
Could you please expand on this?
Thank you so much — a good job! That could not have been an easy few months! You are a total athlete.

      Hi L S,

Thanks for your comment and lovely words! Very much appreciate them!
Good question too. What I meant by ‘skinny’ is lack of muscle. I much prefer looking athletic and not skinny, and the VS fitness programme gave me a way more athletic, muscular body which I prefer! Can’t wait to get the fitness ebook out so everyone can become stronger too!
      I hope that clarifies things!

Thank you Poppy! It definitely does answer my question. I am looking forward to the eBook. Thanks again!!

When will it be coming out?

Your articles are very inspiring. I do want to ask one question though. You appear to be a full time fitness blogger. Am I correct or do you have another job to balance with this please? Thank you kindly.
