The fitness app to help keep you on track

February 12, 2018

-As a qualified PT, you may think it weird that I should enlist a fitness app to help me with my training. But everyone needs someone to help push them harder than they would do themselves especially if motivation is waning. So when Vyta app asked if I’d like to road test it I was only too happy to oblige! As you may know, I’m training for the London Marathon in April. So it’s no surprise that my main focus is running – on getting those miles in and working on my speed. Whilst it’s true that any exercise that gets my heart rate up helps with my overall fitness, my body needs to run to continue to improve my running efficiency.… Continue reading...

Third and Final day at Thirty Eight Degrees North, Ibiza

November 11, 2015

I got to know the breakfast staff at Aguas de Ibiza very well. With so much exercise I developed a routine of having two breakfasts because I definitely needed the extra fuel. And it would have been rude not to right? But this wasn’t an excuse to go crazy at the buffet. I kept my meals balanced and nutritious. Round (I) (eaten in a flash so no time for a snap) was berries and cereal and round two was eggs/smoked salmon and veggies with a smooth almond milk cappuccino. After breakfast round (I) of berries and cereal (eaten in a flash so no time for a snap) it was off to yoga, which eased my muscles back into moving gently which I was particularly grateful for given how stiff I was from the previous days here!… Continue reading...

If your gym routine is stagnant and screaming for a serious shake up – Box Clever Sports is for you. I recently had the heart-pumping, fist-pounding, sweat STREAMING super-fun adrenalin-filled session with owner Pete and his pro-boxer colleague Jamie (both of whom btw turned out to be terrific photographers too – thanks for these pics boys)! I cannot quite emphasise enough just how fun, dynamic and seriously testing the one-to-one and class sessions are. Wanna know exactly what to expect? Check this out… After a quick skip and warm-up, Pete takes me into the ring… Pete takes me through the basics of placing the perfect punch: fist and arms straight, and generate power from the hips thrusting from a normal stance, right the way round to face the opposite side of the room lifting your back heel off the floor to pivot your foot as you turn.… Continue reading...

Just keep kick-boxing

March 19, 2015

On Wednesday this week I awoke feeling a little less wonderful than desired. Usually, I’m full of energy and positive vibes but for a number of reasons hump day this week started a wee bit wobbly and I felt drained and if I’m being honest, hormonal! BUT THEN boxing and kick-boxing with my awesome trainer Dan Roberts happened and it shot my mood, energy and positive vibes right back up there again. I cannot explain how much I love the feeling of getting my heart pumping by pummeling those punches, propelling my high kicks hard at the punch bag, ducking and dodging those right and left hooks, all whilst gasping for air and sweating like crazy!… Continue reading...

Personal Training at FRAME

November 10, 2014
I first discovered the fabulousness of FRAME at the Wellfit Festival in October 2014. I’d never been to the Shoreditch nor Queen’s Park locations – so finally sampling what Frame had to offer was a wonderful awakening! What I experienced at the festival was a 30-minute FRAME fusion – an energetic, dynamic, awesome mix of aerobic dance moves performed to uplifting and motivating music. It was literally the most fun I’d had in ages! Afterwards, I vowed to go and check out FRAME at Queen’s Park, which is less than a mile from my home in Notting Hill, and sample the myriad of classes they have on offer.… Continue reading...
