November 22, 2016
Munch Fit Salmon
Munch Fit: Overall Winner (Images above and below) Best For: Gym Junkies with a taste for the finer things in life Munch Fit declares itself as “the premium” meal delivery service for “a fit,  healthy, active lifestyle.” The company really stood out for me. Not only was I super impressed by the freshness of the meals but they were also all so nutritious, succulent, innovative, packed full of flavour and simply delicious! I really was overwhelmed and very impressed by the quality. It’s all gluten-free and you can tailor exactly what type of plan you want. (I.e vegan, paleo, low carb, high protein.) Munch Fit also introduced me to protein waffles which I have started to obsess about now!… Continue reading...

May 3, 2016

For all those times when I’m  in a rush and want to hit the gym but need some fuel to give me the energy to have a great workout – shakes are my saving grace. They are super simple to make and absolutely delicious, especially with Bioglan’s Skinny Greens Vanilla protein powder which is made with pea protein meaning it’s suitable for any diet plus it’s easy to digest. Apart from being delicious, quick and easy to make, the beauty of shakes is that you don’t have to wait an hour or more to digest them – you can go and workout almost immediately after consumption and the protein also keeps you fuller for longer than if you just had a shake without the protein.… Continue reading...

Protein plus fat-only plates for No-Carb eaters

Sweetpotato
I wanted to post some recipes for all those who may be on a strict protein and fat only diet. This is perfectly fine to maintain for a short while – but do get advice from a health professional before you embark on it. This will ensure you’re still giving your body everything it needs to maintain good health. I’ve been on this diet for the past several weeks (for a special article out soon in The Mail on Sunday) and I have to admit, having to munch solely on meat, eggs, cheese, oil, nuts and green veg does get slightly tedious.… Continue reading...

Nama Foods: Notting Hill Raw Restaurant

September 27, 2014
I’d been looking forward to lunch at Nama Foods all week. For most of us, when Friday hits we’re in desperate need of some rest, relaxation and regeneration so what better way to kick start it all with lunch at the new raw food haven that is the holy gluten-free-raw-grail of Notting Hill? I met my lovely friend and journalist extraordinaire Harriet Compston (Condé Nast Traveller) at 1.30PM for what we thought would be a one-hour lunch. We ended up leaving at 4PM. Of course we had lots to catch up on and discuss but, unfortunately, that wasn’t the reason for our two and a half hour luncheon.… Continue reading...

Pretty perfect muesli

October 15, 2013
Beyond delicious and nutritious Cereals. They haven’t got the cleanest rep. Often they’re full of healthy promises but in reality, they contain a huge amount of sugar, salt and additives. Take  Dorset Cereals’ Berries and Cherries – if you think it’s a healthy option, you are SO wrong. It contains (amongst other things) 51 per cent dried AND sweetened fruit; raisins, sultanas, flame raisins, sweetened dried cranberries (sugar, cranberries, sunflower oil), sweetened dried blueberries (blueberries, sugar), freeze dried cherries, freeze dried blackcurrants, freeze dried raspberries, blackcurrant flavour barley flakes (barley, sugar, natural flavouring, sunflower oil), blackcurrant flavour barley flakes (barley, sugar, natural flavouring, fruit and vegetable concentrate (blackcurrant, black carrot, sunflower oil)).… Continue reading...
