5 Nut M*lk recipes for morning, noon and night

September 18, 2017
IMG_0705
If you like me have a little (ok who am I kidding)– big – something for nut mylks then experimenting with nutty concoctions in the kitchen is kinda like letting a kid loose in a sweetshop. But unlike a bag of sweets the nutty concoctions below are full of goodness and no artificial sugar, and yet still yield the same delight! I use Plenish m*lks (available at Sainsbury’s and Ocado) in all things nuts. Plenish m*lks are long life, unsweetened and organic so you know you’re getting nut-ing but the best bang for your nut buck. You will have a blast both blending and devouring these nut-ritious nut recipes.… Continue reading...

Feel Good Week at Hillside Beach Club

April 27, 2016
2015-10-10 10.20.51
Last October I was given a chance to extend my summer by a few beautiful hot sunny days at the luxury resort Hillside Beach Club in Fethiye, Turkey. The invitation included a holistic Fitness programme led by founder of That Girl London, Christina Howells and delicious wholesome food by nutritionist Rob Hobson co-author of The Detox Kitchen Bible, (which depicts a multitude of healthy delicious dishes to target health needs, whether that’s losing weight, gaining energy or getting clearer skin) in addition to sampling Hillside Beach Club’s own extensive healthy menu. Alongside other journalists and bloggers, I would get to test drive the hotel’s new “Feel Good Week” aimed at adults who want to revitalise their body and mind with fitness, nutrition and yoga instruction, hiking, spa treatments and a healthy menu of Mediterranean-inspired food.… Continue reading...

Chias to the Health Benefits of Flax and Chia seeds

One of the great things about being sponsored by Bioglan UK as one of its ‘Superpowered Heros’ is learning about how its superfoods products can greatly improve your health. However I’m certainly not one for faddy diet myths that claim to miraculously transform your health – I need to understand the science and the facts as to why some foods are so beneficial for our health. If the science does support the positive health claim then only then will I jump on the band wagon. Therefore, before I agreed to work with Bioglan Superfoods I wanted the evidence that its products do what they claim.… Continue reading...

By doing this, you’ll receive an email alerting you to the publication date of my ebook and further news. About the ebook I wanted to release my 12-week VS training programme (based on the article I did for The Mail on Sunday) so that other girls can have the opportunity to #trainlikeanangel too. The training took my physical and mental strength to new heights. I gained muscle, lost fat and felt fitter and tougher than ever.… Continue reading...

Why I ate every 4 hours doing my Victoria’s Secret Training

July 4, 2015
Roasted-Beet-Hummus
Throughout my Victoria’s Secret training, I always made sure I went no longer than four hours without food. It may seem counterintuitive but skipping meals might actually cause you to put on weight. If you skip breakfast, lunch or dinner it could increase your risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease – researchers from Ohio State University have found. Why? When insulin signals fail, the liver does not know it needs to stop producing glucose. The extra sugar in the blood is then stored as fat, causing the individual to put on weight around the belly and belly fat is linked to an increased risk of heart disease.… Continue reading...

Protein plus fat-only plates for No-Carb eaters

May 29, 2015
Sweetpotato
I wanted to post some recipes for all those who may be on a strict protein and fat only diet. While I would never recommend this diet to be sustained for the long-term, being a journalist, I’ve experienced several fitness institutions and nutritionists who prescribe the no-carb diet for a short-term weight loss solution. This is perfectly fine to maintain for a short while – but do get advice from a health professional before you embark on it. This will ensure you’re still giving your body everything it needs to maintain good health. I’ve been on this diet for the past several weeks (for a special article out soon in The Mail on Sunday) and I have to admit, having to munch solely on meat, eggs, cheese, oil, nuts and green veg does get slightly tedious.… Continue reading...

Workshop at Bulgari Hotel

January 13, 2015
Just before Christmas The Bulgari hotel welcomed WORKSHOP – the brand spanking  and VERY swanky new fitness destination – to its London residences, and I was one of the exceptionally lucky ones to sample it. Workshop founder Lee Mullins is the former Director of Personal Training at Bodyism, (the famous fitness brand formerly at The Bulgari) and comes with a wealth of experience and expertise (he’s honed the bodies of Victoria Secret models, Oscar winners and CEO’s worldwide). But this alone is not all that makes Workshop so special and snazzy. The gym is the first to offer the FRAMEWORK tool, (exclusive to the UK) which tailors exercise programmes built upon a unique combination of genetic and scientific tests including movement and nutrition genetic analysis, food intolerance tests, metabolic testing, functional movement screen and a body composition assessment.… Continue reading...
