According to Albert Einstein the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Despite the flaws in this aphorism (since practice can make perfect) I’ve always appreciated its invitation to keep moving forwards and not stagnate on a road to N-O-W-H-E-R-E new.  My reasons for going sober I became injured seven weeks out from the London Marathon which forced me to withdraw my place. I was gutted. What I wish I’d known before: My Advice for marathon training

The London Marathon is now only four weeks away. By now, I’d expected to be firing on all cylinders, smashing PB’s and feeling super strong and psyched for my first ever marathon. Instead, I’m now in my third week of not running and still experiencing pain when I walk. Whether or not I’ll be able to run next month is anyone’s guess. Such is life… But it’s not all doom and gloom. Temporarily Closed for health maintenance

We’ve all seen that Instagram caption that spread like wildfire over the festive period. “Temporarily closed for spiritual maintenance”. It’s a goodie. To those who took its message on board and stepped away from social media to enjoy precious moments with family and loved ones, I salute you. I’m sure both you and they benefited from the lack of phone interference. Given how beneficial this little caption was, I want to introduce an equally important one… No one wants to be ill.
