If you like me have a little (ok who am I kidding)– big – something for nut mylks then experimenting with nutty concoctions in the kitchen is kinda like letting a kid loose in a sweetshop. But unlike a bag of sweets the nutty concoctions below are full of goodness and no artificial sugar, and yet still yield the same delight! I use Plenish m*lks (available at Sainsbury’s and Ocado) in all things nuts. Plenish m*lks are long life, unsweetened and organic so you know you’re getting nut-ing but the best bang for your nut buck. You will have a blast both blending and devouring these nut-ritious nut recipes.… Continue reading...

One of the great things about being sponsored by Bioglan UK as one of its ‘Superpowered Heros’ is learning about how its superfoods products can greatly improve your health. However I’m certainly not one for faddy diet myths that claim to miraculously transform your health – I need to understand the science and the facts as to why some foods are so beneficial for our health. If the science does support the positive health claim then only then will I jump on the band wagon. Therefore, before I agreed to work with Bioglan Superfoods I wanted the evidence that its products do what they claim.… Continue reading...

Nama Foods: Notting Hill Raw Restaurant

September 27, 2014
I’d been looking forward to lunch at Nama Foods all week. For most of us, when Friday hits we’re in desperate need of some rest, relaxation and regeneration so what better way to kick start it all with lunch at the new raw food haven that is the holy gluten-free-raw-grail of Notting Hill? I met my lovely friend and journalist extraordinaire Harriet Compston (Condé Nast Traveller) at 1.30PM for what we thought would be a one-hour lunch. We ended up leaving at 4PM. Of course we had lots to catch up on and discuss but, unfortunately, that wasn’t the reason for our two and a half hour luncheon.… Continue reading...

Pantry at 108, Marylebone Hotel

September 9, 2014
If only all London days consisted of lovely lunches at pretty picturesque places like Pantry at 108 with lovely people like Lucy Robinson. Pantry 108 is the new totally charming healthy restaurant at The Marylebone Hotel. It’s warm, inviting, cosy, comfortable, relaxed and it has a kick-ass menu guaranteed to give you a kick-ass health kick. Think superfood salads, greens galore – there’s a salad which I savored with no less than 12 types of baby lettuce and microgreens (see below) – butternut squash with feta and seeds, homemade tart of the day, omelette, fresh salmon and sides of avocado. It’s clear these folks know the way to a healthy London gal’s heart!… Continue reading...

London Restaurant Favourite: The Good Life Eatery

August 29, 2014
Unassumingly snuggled in next to Starbucks on Sloane Avenue is the health mecca that is The Good Life Eatery. It’s relatively new in London but that hasn’t stopped it from being one of the most-loved tried, tested, talked about restaurants in town. Warm exposed brickwork, cosy booths and wooden tables make it homely and although the food is healthy it manages to be hearty too. The signature ‘Good Life’ salad is a rainbow plate of marinated kale, roasted sweet potato, lentils, red and black quinoa, toasted walnuts, Goji berries, nutritional yeast, with orange tahini vinaigrette with the option to add ‘extra protein': salmon, chicken, avocado or prawns.… Continue reading...
