5 of Amsterdam’s finest Brunch Spots: the Super healthy, super indulgent and everything in-between!

December 4, 2017
I’ve just returned from a short stay in Amsterdam and I loved it. If you’re into your coffee’s and cafe culture then you too will love the dam. I’d heard so much about this eclectic city and yes, mainly how the opportunity to buy weed and magic mushrooms exists on most canal corners and how you can pop into cafes and indulge in both of these things openly. Every picture I’d seen enticed me. Cute canals, cafes, coffee shops and culture (the Anne Frank house is a MUST see) – I don’t know why it took me so long to visit!… Continue reading...

5 Nut M*lk recipes for morning, noon and night

September 18, 2017
If you like me have a little (ok who am I kidding)– big – something for nut mylks then experimenting with nutty concoctions in the kitchen is kinda like letting a kid loose in a sweetshop. But unlike a bag of sweets the nutty concoctions below are full of goodness and no artificial sugar, and yet still yield the same delight! You will have a blast both blending and devouring these nut-ritious nut recipes.… Continue reading...

What we ate on MTLR

June 26, 2017
With so much exercise we needed to eat a lot to keep our energy up. And eat we did and very well too. Breakfast was a feast of Lucy Rocks musleis (vegan, gluten free), Pip & Nut butters, fresh fruit, chia puddings, custard tarts (we were in Portugal – it would be ride not to), eggs and toast. Lunch was usually a picnic on the beach and this was a simple chicken salad. Fruit, crisps and biccies were also on tap. This wasn’t a retreat for turning the treats down! For me, dinner was when I got really excited. Rainbow arrays of exotic salads, spreads, herbs and veggies were presented with artistic flair, accompanied by bigger, heartier dishes like risotto, pasta, paella and big meat dishes.… Continue reading...

Making Detoxing Delicious with Bioglan Superfoods

April 4, 2016
The eponymous Maya Clinic reputed for detoxing its guests with stale bread, broths and general gastronomic blandness/starvation means that many give a ‘detox’ a wide birth for fear of being hangry, tired and deprived. Happily though I’m here to tell you that detoxing does not have to be like this. Detoxing (which is in my book, quite simply just abstaining from the ‘naughty’ rich and sometimes toxic treats like alcohol, sugar and dairy and cashing in on all the good “healthy” stuff) can be delicious, abundant and make you feel fantastic as my recent trip to Chalet Rosiere with my Bioglan Superfoods Supplements in hand proved.… Continue reading...

Nutrition on The Run

November 25, 2015
We all know that exercising on a full stomach is not a good idea. Too much solid food consumption will divert blood from working muscles to the digestive process. This, along with the amount of digestive enzymes, fluids and time required to break down the food can cause bloating, nausea, stitches and/or lethargy. Additionally, some of the calories ingested from solid foods are used to simply break down and digest them; meaning these calories are wasted. So what to do when you want to squeeze in a workout first thing or later in the day in-between lunch and dinner and you need some fuel to get you going?… Continue reading...
