If you’re in the same boat as my friend and fashion blogger extraordinaire Soraya Bakhtiar, who, whilst clutching a Starbucks coffee captioned her instagram this morning : “Last day of London Fashion Week feeling tired yet cosy in this cornflower blue knit [it’s 24 degrees celsius and sunny outside] by @mrselfportrait #morningslikethese #cabselfie #lfw” then you’re in need of some serious r&r.
A couple of days ago I handpicked five of the best spa deals in central London, which I hope deemed helpful! However, if you can’t get to a spa, then make some time to relax at home. Downtime is so important – even if you only have just five or ten minutes. One of my favourite ways to relax after a busy day is by closing the curtains, lighting some candles, taking deep breaths, and sitting quiet and still for a while. I find the gentle flicker of the flames very soporiphic and I always buy scented candles as the aroma helps to mentally transport me out of London and into a tranquil place.
Feu de Beaumont candles are the most exquisite I’ve come across. They do come at a price but they can be refilled once the wax runs out and will last forever. They also make beautiful, ornate and refined additions to any interior as well as smelling sublime. Some aroma’s have an energising effect and others induce a soothing, calming mood. Scroll down to see my favourite and the range of scents you can choose from.
The Golden Goblet (above) and the Golden Porringer (below) are both available in three different scents; Wild Fig, (my favourite) has a rich, sweet, comforting aroma; Jasmine has a fresh floral aroma and Oudh – a very rare, refined Middle Eastern aroma and one of the most expensive fragrances in the world, smells sweet and woody.
The Glass Vessel (below) is available in the same three fragrances as above and also; Verbena – a powerful, invigorating fresh lemon scent, perfect to ignite in the morning for an energising pick-me up and Feu de Bois, which has a wonderful nostalgic smokey smell and will take you back to November nights by the bonfire.
Do you have a favourite way to relax? Please let me know, I’d love to hear!
