Current Skin Saviours

September 11, 2017
It’s our biggest and fastest growing organ so it’s only right that we give it some TLC. And if you like me live in London or a city like it, your job is doubly important as pollution will age and damage your skin at a much faster rate than if you lived in the country. Now I’m in my 30’s and fine lines and wrinkles are way more of a threat, I have to look after my skin more than I did before where face wipes and Nivea was about as far as my regime went. I’ve road tested several different product lines  and the below are the ones that made the final cut because they gave the best results.… Continue reading...

Skin Emergency? Time for some Vitamin C

April 24, 2017
The change of seasons can wreak havoc with your skin. For me, whenever the weather changes my skin becomes dry, dull and devoid of life. So what to do? When it comes to facials – or any skincare lotions and potions, routines and regimes – I’ve always been skeptical. How far do the products really penetrate? And can they really make a difference when your skin is constantly shedding and renewing? But recently I’ve had the good fortune of meeting Dr Jack – one of London’s top aesthetic doctor’s – and I trust his judgement. So when he said an Egyptian facial would work wonders for me, I immediately signed up for it. However, once in the chair, Dr Jack started to talk about using a scalpel to remove my dead skin cells… I started to think I may have been too hasty… Dr Jack explained that shaving or dermaplaning is a technique which has been around for centuries.… Continue reading...

Udo’s Choice

May 11, 2013
This vital source of Omega 3&6 essential fatty acids (EFA’s) is a perfected blend of flax, sesame and sunflower seed oils , as well as oils from evening primrose, rice germ, oat germ and coconut. Udo devoted many years to creating this formulation , a 2:1:1 ratio of Omega 3.6.9, the ideal balance for today’s low fat and Omega 3 deficient diets. Nutritionally superior, fish-free and gluten-free. Organic and vegetarian.   I drizzle Udo’s oil over my salads and also add it to my green juices and smoothies. Remember, it is important that Udo’s Oil is not heated as this destroys the delicate structure of the EFAs, so if you are cooking, make sure you add the oil after and not before/during.… Continue reading...
