My Super Lux Stop-Over at The Siam Hotel, Bangkok

June 13, 2018
En route to New Zealand I had one very special night at the spectacular The Siam Hotel. It is to Bangkok what The Eden Roc is to Antibes. The grounds extend three acres along the Chao Phraya River, (Thailand’s equivalent of the French Rivera) in Bangkok’s royal Dusit district. And you really do receive the royal treatment here with your very own Butler who will cater to your every desire. Accommodation Images of The Siam Suite where I stayed The Art Deco inspired retreat, offers a spacious suites within the main hotel building, private pool villas (accommodates three) or even the century-old Connie’s Cottage which has been transformed form a traditional Thai teak house to a luxurious modern pool villa for two, whilst retaining it’s historical charm.… Continue reading...

Saying Yes and My month away!

June 8, 2018
I left the UK on 2nd May thinking I’d be gone 10 days. One month later and I’ve only just returned. Last month I went to Heathrow and boarded a plane to Thailand. As you can see from my previous posts and Instagrams, I stayed at the out-of-this-world haven of health and tranquility – Chiva Som hotel in an effort to accelerate my recovery from a running injury, having had nearly seven weeks rest from my favourite sport. It’d taken me six weeks just to walk without pain. And I’d missed out on running The London Marathon which was hugely disheartening.… Continue reading...

My quest to test the world’s longest zip line: Part I

March 5, 2018
If you’re based in Britain and anything like me then last week’s “beast from the east” had you desperately dreaming of hot sunshine and palm trees. My destination daydream was Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE, which I visited just before Christmas. I’d been invited to be one of the first to test the world’s longest zip line, scheduled to open in mid-December and I couldn’t wait. However, as you will discover when you read the following posts, things didn’t quite go to plan… Ras Al Khaimah is less well-known than its neighbor, Dubai, but the emirate is aiming to attract one million visitors by the end of 2018.… Continue reading...

Are you rebel enough for London’s most extreme workout?

November 23, 2015
With the #strongnotskinny campaign in full swing you’d think any workout describing itself as ‘skinny’ would be given a wide birth. Not so. In fact, ironically, it seems the ‘skinny’ workout is all the rage . It may not be the most principled approach but that didn’t stop SBC (The Skinny Bitch Collective) from collecting an army of over 84,000 strong. However, unlike collecting models as SBC does, the new Skinny Rebel Workout at The Conrad London St. James hotel is for anyone ‘rebel’ enough to try it. It also promises that one 45 minute session will burn 1,000 calories – no doubt the reason why a frenzy of females have already signed up for multiple classes.… Continue reading...

Luxury RnR at Hotel Du Cap Post VS challenge…

July 14, 2015
As you can imagine, I was pretty pooped after my VS training so when an invitation to go to the otherworldy Hotel Du Cap in Antibes arrived, I couldn’t believe my luck. It was this sight (above) that first made my hair stand on end, catapulting me straight into the French riviera fairy tale. One cannot describe how special this historic hotel is – (it was the setting for F Scott Fitzgerald’s book, Tender is the Night and has played host to A-listers and Hollywood stars throughout time) all painted in pale ivory, hints of gilt and marble, with carpets dressed in corals and exotic plant-patterns (captured brilliantly below by my belle, Tatianna Hambro).… Continue reading...
