the truth About Self-Love

May 18, 2020
We are often told that we should love ourselves and give ourselves some love. Yet sadly, explanations of why this is so fundamental are thin on the ground and so too therefore are the suggestions of how we can love ourselves, what this will add to our lives and most importantly – how we inevitably benefit exponentially if we choose to.  First up let’s remove the “should”. Tell someone they “should” do something and watch how quickly they turn in the other direction instantly drained by the drudging despair of “should”. the wizardry of routine

April 7, 2020

And WOW! I am so glad I did!… Continue reading...

Quarter Life Health Project Retreat (Before)

September 13, 2016
When the invitation came to join The Holistic Health Project for its Quarter Life retreat in Spain I admit I had to think twice about accepting. Despite the alluring descriptions of Kundalini yoga, hiking, meditation and naturopathic (the use of whole and organic foods as medicine – an integral concept of healing in many indigenous societies) vegan cuisine that would be on offer in Benahavis, a mountain village between Marbella, Estepona and Ronda 7 km from the coast, there was something about the following phrase that didn’t sit well with me. “The Retreat for 20/30 something females going through a quarter life crisis” it rather uninvitingly dubbed itself.… Continue reading...
