Take this example; at the beginning of a coaching session a client might think “I don’t have much I feel I need to be coached on, should I delay the session until I have *enough* to bring to the table?” but invariably it’s within these ostensibly “unneeded” sessions where some of the most precious, self affirming insights are uncovered. It’s true that when we get out of our own way and “just do it, say it, be it” we find the parts of ourselves we’ve been unknowingly knowing are missing. #selfawareness #coaching #unexpected

At half marathon point I was soaked through and the powder had set which made things exceptionally slow and strenuous. 🚨Tinnitus🚨 The week I got tinnitus could ha 🚨Tinnitus🚨 The week I got tinnitus could have felt debilitating but luckily I had the magic of the mountains and friends to help distract me from the incessant ringing. I’ve had non stop ringing in my ears for nearly two weeks. Remarkably before it came on a few days prior I’d received emails notifying me of tinnitus awareness week, established to bring more support, knowledge and comfort to those affected. It’s a pretty unpleasant condition and the thought of never experiencing silence again in of itself felt quite alarming. Yet I believe all these things have an important message and opportunity to learn something of great value. 🙏🏻I’ve been asking myself what the possible gifts of the experience could be and how I can embrace what it’s showing me. I’m struck by the fragility of our bodies and how we really need to honour them as best we can and what a blessing it is to be well. I’m also reminded of how humans are adaptable, resilient and strong. Currently over 6 million people in the UK have tinnitus and there is no cure. Some cases are temporary and others are permanent. What I want to share is that no matter how long it lasts, you do start to habituate and the noise doesn’t feel so all consuming. I wondered if I’d ever be able to sleep well again and happily I can say that it’s possible! Tinnitus can feel scary but like most things in life, time lessens the intensity and it’s possible to completely forget about it when engaged in an activity/conversation etc. I’m grateful for the reminders of what’s most important in life and that we do get to choose what we pay attention to. For anyone who may have tinnitus - we got this! Let’s allow it to make us stronger. 💪🏻 💖#tinnitus
