As human beings it’s our default setting to imagine the worst. Historically, being vigilant of danger is what kept us safer from being eaten by lions and out of harms way.
Yet in today’s world we are of course (unless we happen to find ourselves roaming the African savannas!) not in danger of getting eaten by lions, but, our brain’s can still be triggered by unfavourable events to make us feel the same lion-threat is there. This renders many people into hyper states of anxiety and panic. The good news however is that we can learn to consciously choose a more appropriate response for the different (no lion is coming after me) threat.
With the UK now in it’s third lockdown many people are living in heightened states of anxiety and panic focusing on the worst that could happen. Whilst it’s important to acknowledge the hardships of this time and allow difficult emotions to be expressed, it’s also crucial to focus on all the good too. We have two vaccines. This will all end. We get to spend more time with those in our bubble. We get to focus more on ourselves. We get to grow. We get to transform.
All this and more is possible if we choose to recognise there’s potential and that the darkest times often lead to the most enlightening and enriching transformations. With this in mind, I’d love to invite you to have FUN! This exercise I’m about to share is all about letting your imagination run wild and free within the realm of all positive possibilities. This will allow you to break through negative beliefs and barriers and glide freely into exploring what you actually want and what is actually possible in this time and beyond.
About Scripting
Scripting is a tool used as part of Law of Attraction (LoA), following the belief that “what you think about and thank about, you bring about”. The Law of Attraction (also known as the law of mirroring), responds to your thoughts, with the words you speak and the emotions you feel, establishing you as the creator of your own reality. Scripting involves letting your imagination take hold to envisage the best possible future and then communicating this through words in the PRESENT tense, in an almost story-like way. For example, I might start out with “it is February 15th, 2021” before proceeding to describe where I want to be at this moment in the present tense with phrases like “I am”, “I have” or “it is”. The key is to put yourself in the shoes of your future self and write from the perspective of that version of you!
Scripting can help replace redundant habits and psychological paradigms with progressive, intentional habits and thoughts – that reprograms the subconscious mind and therefore changes your reality. Words carry immense power, the two most powerful words being “I am”, for what you place after them shapes who you will become. Dr Joe Dispenza’s research into mind and heart coherence is a fascinating scientific insight into scripting and the law of attraction and why this truly works. Neuroscience is the basis of how spirituality manifests itself into physical realism and the world as we perceive it using our five senses.
Scripting regularly like once a month, creates the opportunity to recalibrate and set specific aims and intentions. Re-reading your script each morning and night, believing in the intentions and meditating on them strengthens the neural pathways and helps to create the change quickly. The gap between thought and physical matter is vision with emotion. Emotion is energy in motion so where focus goes, energy flows. Everything that we believe exists; from modern technology to art, has at one point been a thought. Someone has thought it first then followed that thought with action which has led to creation of it in the physical world. There is a very logical sequence of events that is born from pure thought and so, in my opinion there is nothing quite as powerful as a simple human thought.
Emotion is the physical signature of thought, you may not be aware of your thoughts at all times but you will always know how you feel. Writing in the present tense and physically feeling the joy, peace or other pleasant emotions that you wish to create will help shift your focus into a positive mindset and a domino effect soon follows. Neuroscience has demonstrated that for every thought that is focused upon for mere seconds, another similar thought arises, which is why we can talk ourselves into or out of anything. We can use this predictable behaviour of the brain to reverse the adverse effects of unwanted feelings such as anxiety, fear and negativity.
Final Points about Scripting:
1. Write in the present tense.
2. Never be afraid to be too detailed with your script. The more descriptive you are, the better you will be able to connect and visualize everything that you are trying to manifest. For example, if you’re trying to manifest your dream home, you’d want to explore all the tiny little details that make that dream home unique.
3. Express how it feels to have it! The level of detail in your script should extend to talking about your emotions and feelings – describing your feelings is absolutely key to writing a powerful script. Expressing how it feels to have your manifestation allows you to truly put yourself in your future reality and embody that version of you on an energetic level.
4. Express Gratitude Gratitude is one of the most high vibrational feelings that you can embody so including it in your script will raise the vibration and bring you closer to your heart’s desires.
5. Don’t let fear or self-doubt dampen your dreams. Write from your heart and soul. Don’t put limits on what you can achieve.
I hope you harness the power of your reflections, intentions and desires to manifest the most positive outcomes for this time and beyond.
